SWS and the Queensland University of Technology have won Commonwealth funding under the ARC Linkage Project. The funds will be made available over the next four years for a project dealing with reconciling activity-centric and business object-centric approaches to business process modelling. Business process modelling is a key tool for organisations striving to create efficiencies by exploiting their IT infrastructure. At present there are several disparate approaches to business process modelling each with its relative merits. There is great potential in unifying these approaches and combining their relative strengths. This project will set the foundations for next generation business process modelling techniques.
FlowConnect automates NSW Government data collection This year NSW Department of Commerce will compile its yearly survey collecting data across all agencies with a difference. The spreadsheets are out and full survey automation is in. FlowConnect not only captures and processes the agencies' data, but also enforces the workflow within each agency to complete and approve its own survey. FlowConnect Community has been selected as a preferred Client Management System for the non-government organisations and NSW government agencies.
FlowConnect Community was specially designed for organisations dealing with clients. The solution is web based and by being offered on a subscription basis, it is highly affordable for organisations of any size. FlowConnect Community allows organisations to manage their clients online. A secure login provides authorised users with data and functions they are allowed to access. They can see what is on their work list, search to view the details of clients, create a new client and record new data, edit client, create relationships between clients, attach documents to the client’s file and make online referrals via the Referral Link. The imaging system allows scanned documents or photographs to be attached to the clients’ cases.
Work in FlowConnect is fully automated. If for example a user schedules a follow up or a review, the workflow will bring it on their work list just before it is due. Users can track the progress of their cases in the workflow at any time.
