FlowConnect was established in Australia in 1994. In our
early years, the company specialised in financial software,
database design and maintenance. In 1998, FlowConnect
decided to expand into the design and implementation of
advanced web-based workflow systems and started developing
its workflow platform.
FlowConnect invests more than 25% of its revenue into R&D to
advance workflow concepts and cover the development of new
capabilities. FlowConnect works very closely with the
Queensland University Information Technology Department that
has an international workflow research team, led by the
Netherlands-based professor Wil Van Der Aalst.
In 2006 FlowConnect and the Queensland University of Technology
won Commonwealth funding under the ARC Linkage Project.
The major focus of the project is reconciling activity-centric
and business object-centric approaches to business process
modelling. Business process modelling is the main tool for
organisations striving to create efficiencies by exploiting
their IT infrastructure.
FlowConnect has offices in Ultimo, Sydney, with a team of
dedicated professionals who have many years of experience in the
design, implementation, and maintenance of web-based
